The Maroa Public Library District was established on July 1, 1993. The district includes all of the Maroa-Forsyth Community Unit School District territory lying within Macon and DeWitt counties, excluding territory within the corporate boundaries of the Village of Forsyth.

MPLD Mission


Our mission is to provide Maroa Public Library District patrons with current educational, cultural, historical and recreational information.  To accomplish this mission, the library seeks to continuously upgrade and increase its services, utilizing a knowledgeable, service-focused staff and dedicated, responsible management, who willingly collaborate with local government, educational organizations, other public agencies and their partners.

MPLD is part of the Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS).  IHLS connects and serves public, academic, school, and special libraries throughout the southern half of the state. IHLS is responsible for inter-library loan and item delivery.
